Books
Little by little we will add books that we feel we can recommend. This first book is by Mark Watson. It is entitled Royal Families Worldwide.

His book, pictured to the right, lists 70 royal families of the earth and includes the name and title of the reigning monarch/head of the family, his/her date and place of birth, parentage, siblings, religion, date of marriage, consort(s) with their previous name(s), children, place of residence, date of succession and coronation, constitutional status, source of income, a brief history of the dynasty, and a black and white photograph on the facing page. This book is considered to be the most comprehensive list of royal families today.

This book can be ordered by going to the website of the publisher Shepheard-Walwyn at www.shepheard-walwyn.co.uk/book_details.asp?Bookid=196

The second book, World Orders of Knighthood & Merit was edited by Guy Stair Sainty and Rafal Heydel-Mankoo (deputy editor) and includes contributions from many of the world's leading authorities on the subject. It is an important and difinitive work on the true chivalric orders of the world. It is composed of two volumns and 2,100 pages in full color with 1500 illustrations--a veritable masterpiece. For more on this very extraordinary book, see: http://www.wokm.co.uk. To obtain a copy, contact admin@burkes-peerage.net or call +44 (0)1280 816161. It is all too easy to conclude from the mud-slinging articles in the press that there is little merit in keeping the monarchy, which is why this book was written as an eye opener or to portray the real story. The third book is called Crowning Glory: The Merits of Monarchy by Charles Neilson Gattey. This book parades the enormous, little-known contributions of the monarchs of Great Britain---especial for the last 200 years. It is a book worth reading so that the truth might be told.
